This ministry focuses on binding up the broken hearted as Isaiah 61:1 and Luke 4:18 say. The ministry is called The Safe Place (TSP) because:

Healing can and will happen at the place that someone feels safe.

Amid all the things I have done and been a part of in ministry, one of the main avenues the Lord has worked through me is coming alongside and helping people who have been hurt, abused, traumatized. The Safe Place is about putting the pieces back together in people’s lives so they can fulfill the purposes and destiny the Lord has for them. When people make their way through emotional pain and lie-based belief systems into the peace and truth that Christ holds for them, they can move on to all that the Lord has called them to do and be.

I have been a part of a team of people who started a church in the Denton, Texas area. The Bridge Church is served by lead pastors Duane and Kris White. Pastor White shares the heart, vision, and partnership of The Bridge with The Safe Place.

Our aim is that The Safe Place be a healing agent of God’s grace through direct connection with the local church. I am very excited to be partnering with our local church. In addition to its local connection, our ministry focus also will be global. Pastor White also leads a global mission ministry called Beyond These Shores that trains and equips teams to go around the world with the gospel. Our ministry will be a part of that global mission to communicate the healing hope of Jesus’ grace and truth to those who live with little or no hope.

Through TSP, I am partnered with Connection International Ministries under the supervision and direction of Jamie Englehart. The network of churches and ministries he leads is impacting this nation and nations around the globe with the gospel of Jesus Christ as they seek to empower people to fulfill all God has planned for them.

Our longer range ministry goals are to create a local ministry center, The Safe Place, here in Dallas that will provide help for the hurting, peace for those in turmoil, and light for those who feel like their lives are in darkness. This will be a place for ministers and believers to come to put the pieces of their lives back together. TSP will be involved in taking the message of our healing Savior around the world by partnering with missions organizations like Beyond These Shores. We also partner with local churches across the country to start prayer ministries where hurting and hopeless people can find the peace of God and the abundant life Jesus has given.

All of this starts on a local level—right here in Denton at our home church, The Bridge. We invite you to be a part of the ministry from the very beginning. As the ministry grows and can support itself, it will become its own entity, broadening its scope of ministry while continuing to work with the local church.

Right now we need partners to support in prayer and finances from our friends and family. Please prayerfully consider supporting us as we continue to grow this exciting new ministry. We reach the unchurched, the poor, the people who are not able to help themselves. Many of the people we work with have exhausted time, energy, finances, and hope, so our ministry to them will be by God’s grace and provision.
